Dear Friend,
As November arrives and the weather starts to turn cooler, the days shorter, we are reminded to go within on our own personal retreat from the world. Herein, we may find a heart, one which is filled with gratitude.
On your journey, may you find that for others in your life, and for yourself as well.
Uniting with you on the journey,
~ Azim N. Khamisa

A Moment for Thanks at Thanksgiving
A time for Thanksgiving is a time for gratitude.
During these tough social times, it may be difficult to easily find a grateful attitude. A lot of people are out of jobs, houses are upside down, the economy is brutal, unemployment is high. There are serious problems everywhere in our world.
Though it may be a stretch to get to gratitude, it's important to keep in mind, that the state of gratitude is a very high vibratory emotion, and despite the benefits of remaining at this high state, we don't always count our blessings. I am very fortunate that a very good friend always reminds me to count my blessings when I am down or complaining about life's problems.

There are many blessings that we often take for granted. Life is the biggest gift, or blessing, of all. We have families; we have friends; we have health; we have a place to live, three square meals and transportation. We live in a country where we feel safe. There actually is a lot to be grateful for.
With a heart full of appreciation, we are able to remain at a very high vibration, one which is closer to spirit, one which attracts to us the greatest wealth, health and happiness.
When you meet people like his holiness the Dalai Lama you can see and appreciate that he lives in the high vibration emotions like gratitude, empathy, compassion, forgiveness and love 24/7. I know we all have a bad hair day! I do too! When that happens to me I routinely add another 30 minutes to my daily meditations and get back on the wagon of living at the high vibratory emotions.
I always like to end my meditation with the acknowledgment of my life's blessings, with deep gratitude and try to remain in that emotion for the rest of the day. It is important to include in your blessings all who have helped you and those who have harmed you. Remember you would not be who you are without all that have contributed to your life. I also include all who have crossed my path - foes and friends.
You cannot destroy hate with hate - only love can destroy hate. Revealing a strong redemptive quality in love, Abraham Lincoln said, "The best way to destroy an enemy is to make him a friend."
And finally, Jesus said, "Love thy enemy."
See how doing so gets you better results in your life. See how - through gratitude and forgiveness - relationships are healed. See how, at this poignant time of the year, a very profound sense of gratitude can take you to a haven heretofore unimagined.
Wishing you and your loved ones a happy, healthy and a joyous Thanksgiving holiday.
Many Blessings,
Azim N. Khamisa
